Shabby Tea Room 'Sweet Dreams'

And another make I wanted to enter into the fab challenge over at The Sabby Tea Room. I don't often do this style as I love my stamping & colouring nowadays. But when I first started making cards - I didn't stamp much in this way & was alyaws making this type of card, so I feel really comfortable with it. I LOVE to see others with this style - which is why I love looking at all the Shabby Tea Room makes & I also do enjoy making them from time to time too. I'm really pleased with how its turned out in the end...

...I made a circle card-blank, then added smaller die-cut circles around the circumference to give the effect of large scallops. The gorge swirlyt  frame is by Maya Road & I have painted with white & blue acrylic before distressing with a craft knife...

 

...'Birthday' stamp is by HOTP & I have used Weathered Wood Distress Inks. I then created a jewellrey tag with the word 'wish' on..

White Bazill Bling card-stock has been run through Cuttle Bug embossing folder, then spray with white mica mists. Flowers have been sprayed with micas also. Lovely butterfly to finish.

Hey all, just a quick post today for the Shabby Tea Room challenge. I just LOVED the photo so much I knew I wanted to enter & I had this little make ready for it...

I've painted the chipboard with acrylics, then distressed it with a craft knife...

 

...The image is fab Ginger Ketto by Stamping Bella - which I have paper-pieced & embossed...

The white Bazzil Bling card-stock has been run through a Cuttlebug embossing folder & sprayed with white mica mists for a soft sheen...

Sweet Spring Flowers!

Hi All, hope you's all ok! Today I've got another easel card. I didn't really used to be into these all that much, but now since I've been doing my blog, for some reason - I'm well into them! - That extra little bit gives you so much more scope for extra space to add to the design. Usually I only do easel cards for special makes & in a shabby, vintage or pretty style/look. But this is completely different its bright, cheerful & cute & don't think that usually calls for an easel type card, so I wasn't sure how I'd get on - but now it done I actually like it & it keeps growing on me!

The fabulous papers are Nitwits Cupcake fat quater bundle & the fabby little image is by talented artist Rachelle-Anne-Miller. LOVE her style & don't think they're used enough as you don't see them as much as some of the other companies, so if you've never come across her designs - they're defo worth checking out. I think they are made by Stampavie...

Anything Goes challenge 'Home sweet home'

Hi all - hope everyone had a good bank hol & getting all back to normal now! Well I'm posting today my 2nd creation for the Anything Goes team who are linked with The Craft Den. So without further ado...here is my card for the Anything Goes design team challenge 'Home Sweet home'. I wanted to do a bit of a twist to the theme & make it an unusal style, more suited to a young buisness type or even an older teenager whos maybe just moved into their swanky new city flat...

...The image is by Sugar Nellie & papers are We are Memory Keepers. I've used Distress Inks as usual & highlighted with my Doodle Bug Design glitter - which is really seeing some action at the mo! The full pictures not really picked it up, but in real it really sparkles! See below for colours...

Cheeks & Lips: Worn Lipstick & Fired Brick

Hair: Spun Sugar & Worn Lipstick (pink glitter highlights)

Skirt, shoes & earings: Tumbled Glass & Faded Jeans (blue glitter highlights)

Top, tights & bow: Shabby Shutters (green glitter highlights)

...Sentiment reads 'Cool new pad' - mini-alphas by Cosmo Criket & chipboard letters are from the collection & I've added Crackle paint for that distressed/ vintage look. I've also distressed all the paper edges with a craft knife...

...I made the flowers using the spiral technique - which I just LOVE at the mo - I think they're so effective, watch out for a tutorial on them here soon...

...I've made the pin with some glass & pearl beads then secured a tag from the collection. Lastley I finished the edges with black lace & added some ornate silver corners.

Whoopsi Daisy 'No Layers' challenge

Morning all & hope you've all had a great weekend & enjoyed the wedding & the time off! Now onto this weeks Whoopsi Daisy 'No Layers' challenge......I do like a challenge & this sure was in the real sense of the word! - I think we use layers so readily that when there taken out of the equasion - you kinda feel you've nothing left! Even though to qualify for entry you only need to make sure you do not do multiple matting & layering - I wanted to try & actually have no layers at all, so I decided to use my Tim Holtz papers as thy are sturdy enough to stand alone like card stock. Also they're double sided & these ones I've used are printed in 6x6 squares with a different pattern on each - PERFECT for the job!!! (& I absolutely LOVE them!!!)...

I coloured the image with Distress Inks which again is really handy as the colours match the papers perfectly & you can get that muted soft look too...

..Now onto the flowers - I made these flowers using the spiral technique - which I just LOVE at the moment - I think thy're just so pretty & effective & they look particularly good in these scrummy papers & colours, look out for a tutorial on them soon. The image is hanging from a little chain secured with jump rings through a tiny hole at the top...

...The metal pieces are from my trusty We are Memory Keepers metal hardware tin, which you may have noticed I am slightly obsessed wtih at the mo! I mean WOW how good are these metal pieces? below is my fave bit of the card - I think it really suits the design & just can't get over how good these things look. Its the first time I've used these side pieces with eye-lets, as I've always used brads so far - but think they look just FAB! thankyou sooooo much We are Memory Keepers for such a fantastic product!!!

... The last thing I wanted to add was this charm, so I made an organa ribbon detail, I think the ribbon had been sprayed with DI's for another project in these exact colours - so again it matched really well. The I finished with 2 hat pins standing above the edge of the card.
