Magnolia Card & Bag Set

Here is a little Magnolia card & bag set, made from scrummy Fancy Pants papers that I actually got free a while ago with the magazine I do commissions for Simply Crads & Papercrafts. I've been admiring them for ages & I've also been meaning to have a go at doing some bunting as I keep seeing it around, but never actually done it myself....So this seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine the 2 & here's the end result!...

Photobucket

...First of all here's a closer look at the 6x6" card...

Photobucket

...Love this cute Tilda! She's 'Kneeling Tilda' from the Butterfly Dreams '11 collection, she's been coloured with Distress Inks as usual & highlighted with Crystal Glamour Dust...

Photobucket

...Flowers are from WOC, combined with Magnolia Doo Hickey heart swirl die & pretty pearls that I've sprayed & coloured with Aqua Alcohol Ink, the ribbon roses have Sworofski crystals in the centers...

Photobucket

...And here's my first attempt at bunting! I'm well chuffed with the result & think it looks really effective, so will defo be going in the repetoir!...

Photobucket

...Now here's the matching bag I made, which I'm entering into the TOMIC challege...

Photobucket

...And a closer look...

Photobucket

...The image is 'Hello Little Butterfly' from the Butterfly Dreams '11 collection, again she has been coloured with Distress Inks & highlighted with Crystal Glamour Dust...
Photobucket

...The flowers are from WOC & have been distressed with white paint, the die is Magnolia Doo Hickey heart swirl die...

Photobucket

...The 'LOVE' sentiment has been spelled in Prima mini-alphas onto die cut tab, the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch...

Photobucket

...Lastly here's a shabby bow I tied onto the handles with flower center & twine bow...

Anniversary Set Commission (Card & Box/ Wall hanger & Bag)

Hi there & today I'd like to shoe you a recent commission from a customer who wanted an Anniversay Card & Box Set, and somthing special as a keepsake, so I suggested a wall hanger to match. I stuck to a traditional pastel colour scheme with lovely papers by K&Co. & tried to give it plenty of contemporary touches, here's the end result...

Photobucket

...I made a 6x6" card from white Bazzil cardstock & puched the rdges with Martha Stewart French Scroll PATP punch, here's a closer look...

Photobucket

...I used a Tim Holtz ornate book plate for the center which has been hand coloured by me (Will be doing a tutorial on them soon, in the mean time look out for my article in Simply Cards & Papercrafts!) I then added the 'Congrats' sentiment in mini-alphas onto coreogated card...

Photobucket

...The stunning large pale blue roses & most other flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, paired with Magnolia Doo Hickey 'Heart Swirl Branch' die...

...And here's the Wall-hanger. I cut an MDF base (approx 8.5x6") using a jigsaw from 6ml MDF & sanded the edges. I then sprayed with White Primer & coated with 2 coats of blue acrylic paint, before distressing with a craft knife to create an old wood-look/ peeled paint type effect. I then attsached some fastners with tiny screws & tied ric-rac through to hang...

Photobucket

...The pretty sentiment is from a HOTP CD-rom & has been edged with gorgeous Pink Paisly decorative circle. Again most of the flowers including the large blue stunner are from WOC. The  birdy is a Tim, Holtz die made from grungeboard & Bazzil card-stock...

Photobucket

...Below shows a hand-made glass pebble on a shabby seam-binding bow...

Photobucket

...And lastly here's the matching bag, with name tag...

Photobucket

...The sentiment is from the HOTP CD-rom & the wings are Tim Holtz grungeboard with hand-made heart from manuscript paper...

Photobucket

...Here's a look at the whole set together...

Just Magnolia 'Pink, Pearls & Lace' challenge

Morning all, it's Friday again & time for another challenge at Just Magnolia. This weeks challenge is Pink, Pearls & Lace, which is right up my street! & I'm sure will be a popular one with plenty of scope for creativety & different interperatations. The design team have loads of inspiration waiting for you, so be sure to pop over using the link above, then don't forget to enter using Mr. Linky - we'd love to see what you create! Anyhow here's what I did...
Photobucket

...The gorgeous papers are from the Pixie Glen by Prima & are sooooo beautiful - I LOVE this pad!!! I added some pretty lace across the top of the card & 2 peach 8ml pearls to the image as well as some Viva Declor Salmon faux pearls for that part of the challenge. Here's a closer look...

Photobucket
...Paper edges have been inked with Walnut Saton then distressed wtih a craft knife. The 'True Love' tab & little postcards, along with the large scalloped square have all been cut from the paper pad. I used 'Tilda with Hawaii Flower' from the Sweet Rainbow '11 collection, one of my fave Magnolia images ever! She's so pretty & I think she looks great in these soft, muted peachy pinks!...
Photobucket

...I've coloued her with Distress Inks & highlighted with Crystal Glamour Dust so she really sparkles!...

...Most of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts & are accompanied by Magnolia Doo Hicket Hearl Swirl Die & a shabby seam binding bow. I also added some coreogated card, twine & cheesecloth to add to the shabby, almost rustic effect.
