' Special Mum'

For this card I have followed the Crafting Lifes Pieces beautiful, unusaul & inspiring sketch - love the site & the challenge! I also wanted to make a Mothers Day card & saw the opportunity of using the 3 circles for my bottle top art & chipboard letters to spell 'Mum'...

I LOVE this paper collection & always get great results with it. I've gone for my trusty shabby chique look & love doing easel cards with those slightly more special makes like this - it just really adds to the overall effect & presentation, giving instant elegance...

'Play!'

Hi all this is a card I made for e-bay a few weeks back using one of my fave Belles & Whiskars images. How good is Elisabeth Bell? I think the stamp world would be a less prettier place without her work - just love it! - and they're just so perfect for colouring, you can achieve so many different looks with them. I've gone for bright & cheerful with touch of shabby for this one...

...The papers are mostly Fairest of them all by Imaginisise & yellow checked piece is The Girls Paperie 'Paper Girl'. Most of the flowers are from Country Baskets, except the lemon velvet by Maya Road. Ticket by Tim Holtz...

...Sewing detail added round edges, border punch is Martha Stewart doily edge punch...I've pained the pin & chipboard heart with acrylic, the heart has had 1 layer of dark pink, then yellow. Then simply go to town with the craft knife to distress! (v. fun)...

...Coloured with Distress inks
 Skin - Tattered Rose
Cheeks - Worn Lipstick
Hair - Old Paper & Brushed Cordroy
Top, shoes, teddys nose, ear & heart - Spun Sugar
Pants & pink stripes on headband, hair bow & teds bowtie - Spun Sugar & Worn Lipstick
Teddy & yellow stripes on headband; Scattered Straw, Wild Honey & Mustard Seed.
Highlighted in Doodle bug design glitter & white sakura pen...

..I love the little acrylic heart embellishment which comes clear, I've dabbled it with acrylic paint on the back in yellow, light & dark pink (let each colour dry in between), then stamped the sentiment on the front in Staz-on, lastly threaded & tied with grosgrain ribbon.

'Adore'

This is the first time I have used this Sugar Nellie stamp as I only bought it a few weeks ago & really love it! Its just so versatile & I can tell it'll become a firm favourite! - Love the little bird too! The papers are a recent purchase from Fancy Pants (love them too!)

The metal bits are We Are Memory Keepers hardware tin, dies (frame, swirls & butterfly) are Marriane Design. Edge punch is Martha Stewart doily. The hearts have been punched from swissdoted flocked acetate which is really fab! I've then inked them with versamark & sprinkled with UTEE, then after heating added some white embossing power & repeated heating process. The acetate will all curl up so it need flatening with an acrylic block whilst hot. Ticket by Tim Holtz, flowers are from local Country Baskets.

Distress Inks; Skin - Tattered Rose; Cheeks Fired Brick; Hair - Old Paper, Scattered Straw; Frayed Burlap; Dress Spun Suger & Victorian Velvet; Tights - Spun Sugar & Wild Honey

'Sweet' (love spring)

Hi all, I'm slightly nervous as this is my very first post & my first attempt at entering into a blog challenge...I've been researching the whole blog thing for some time now & found loads that I'm gonna enter on a regular basis...

...My inspiration for this make was firstly the Whif of Joy 100th challenge from which I chose my fave WOJ stamp, then cause of the hearts on the image I kinda thought I 'heart' & decided on spring florals, next I decieded on my fave shabby chique style with my fave colour scheme at the mo - pink & blue...

...Papers are Vintage Rose paperpack from Craftwork cards. Gorgeous corner dies & swirls are Marriane design cut in kraft-cardstock, the swirls have sworofski crystals on the end...

The image has been coloured with Distress inks; Skin - Tattered Rose; cheeks - fired brick; Hair - Scattered Straw, Frayed Burlap with hint of Walnut Satin; Top & wing & hearts- Spun Sugar with hint of Worn Lipstick; Jeans & headband - Tumbled Glass. The wing & hearts have also been highlighted with white flock.

...All the flowers are a new purchase (they litererally arrived today!) from Wild Orchid Crafts & I just LOVE them! The hearts have been die-cut with an old Sizzix die I actually got free with my Big Shot, but I think they really go with this image & use them a lot with it. The pink ones are covered in flock, the blue in Mica mists then Glossy Accents & the kraft with Crackle Paint...

...The metal fastenings are a great little product from We Are Memory Keepers from there Hardware tin. The swirls have Swarofski Aurora AB crystals on the ends. I've also used ribbon & Jute & a jumbo pin from my local Country Baskets & net that I have rolls & rolls of from my previous life as a dancer! (for the tutus!)...Oh & the sentiments are computer generated from Nitwits cupcake fqb.

I am entering into the following challenges;
