Cardmaker of the Year 2010

One of my best crafty achievements so far, is winning ths Simply Cards & Papercraft 'Cardmaker of the year' competition 2010. To enter the competition you had to create 3 projects showing a range of techniques, styles, themes etc. These were my entries...

My first card is basically a circular blank with 2 'out of the box' butterflies. Image is Lulu Ketto by Stamping Bella, papers by My Little Shoe Box really inspired the make along with the grungeboard flurish by Tim Holtz.

The grunge board flourish has been covered in pink acrylic, dry brushed with white acrylic then set with Glossy Accents & sprinkled with glitter.

Butterflies have been cut from a duplicate pice of paper and decopaged over the origionals using 3D foam pads. I highlighted them with white Sakura pen & red flock then added a Viva Declor pearl pen 'body'. Image (below) has been paper pieced and each piece covered in glitter, flock or Glossy Accent highlights.

My second card was made in slightly shabby style with papers from The Girls Paperie. I made a large bird cage die from grunge board, covered in white acrylic then added Tumbled Glass Distress Ink & finished with Glossy Accents whilst ink was still wet to give marbled effect.

The chipboard swirl I think is by Fancy Pants & has been covered in paper from the collection, sanded & wrapped in embroidery thread. 'so so so so' sentiment has been cut out from an old book.

Below is my fave bit - my hammered bottle top! After hammering it has been sprayed white and covered in a patterned paper circle die cut, I then added chipboard 's' and individually cut out typewriter letters.

My last card was double fronted, papers are 'Petal Pushers' collection by Bo Bunny.

The quote was a die cut from the collection that I matted onto Bazzil card and hung with eyelet and jump rings from the chipboard swirl. I covered the chipboard with pink or blue acrylic then added white dots with a tooth pick and set with Glossy Accents.

Stamp is by Penny Black, coloured with Twinkling H2O's and highlighted with Glossy Accents.

I finished with printed sentiment with letters cut individually again.
