CLP Sketch, MDUC & Midweek Magnolias Happy Birthday!

Hi there, today I'm posting a card I made using this gorgeous sketch from CLP challenge. If you haven't ever come across this site, you really must go there as it's simply delightful! The blog is stylish & pretty and they run a monthly sketch challnege, designed by Chelsea Le (one of my all time fave crafters) along with a talented design team who bring the beautiful sketches to life.

People often ask me 'what's the secret of making great cards?', well one fool proof way of getting good results is by using a well designed sketch as a starting point. These CLP sketches are simply the best around & look beautiful just as they are, before you've even picked up so much as a pair of scissors! Team this layout with scrummy papers, a well coloured image & some cleverly placed embellishments and you really can't go far wrong!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge are celebrating their 4th birthday, I love everything about this Magnolia challenge, the standard of work by the design team & entrants is second to none, which I suppose is down to the years of experience they have under their belt that sets them apart from other challenes. May you have another 4 years of success and creative flair!

Also Midweek Magnolias are celebrating their 1st birthday, where they have a fantastic blog hop that I've jsut been on, some great inspiration from the design team & lovely candy giveaway too - again may you continue to thrive throughout your next year!

Soooooo I thought I'd combine this beautiful CLP sketch with the 2 magnolia challenges Birthday celebrations & make a Birthday card...

I used 'Ballerina Bunny Tilda & masked her with this lovely wishing well background stamp by The Pixie Cottage to make a pretty spring time theme, here's a closer look...

Scrummy papers are my Maja Design & the image has been coloured with Distress Inks & highlighted with Crystal Glamour Dust & Tim Holtz Picket Fence Distress Glitter.

I made the shabby bows with white seam binding & added several shades of pink Distress Inks, sprayed lightly with water, scrunched & dried with a heat gun tool and tied into 2 bows.

Notice the 2 handmade glass pebbles (above) & length of pink pearlised beads I added to hang from bow to bow. Flowers (below) are kort & godt & WOC.

I added 3 metal spacers & set them with pearls as per sketch, then made a little banner shape for them to sit on.

Lastly I added the bunting from the sketch & stuck on Pion Design letters to spell 'Mia' for my daughters birthday.

I'd like to enter into the following challenges:

CLP - Sketch challenge
MDUC - Happy Birthday
Midweek Magnolia's - Happy Birthday
Time for Magnolia Challenge - Happy Birthday
Tilda's Town - Anything Goes
Stamp & Create with Magnolia - Spring with new life
