For my card I used my new Saturated Canary stamp & these drop dead gorgeous papers from the new Maja Design Vintage Spring collection.

Paper edges have been inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink using a blending tool, then stiched on the machine. I added 2 ripped sections so I could 'hide' lace underneath, loving this look at the mo!

I cut the stamped & coloured image out using the Spellbinders Floral Ovals die, I then die cut the shape from lilac Core'dinations Whitewash cardstock & layered the 2 together with cheese cloth underneath. The postacards are by LOTV I stamped in black ink from other Maja papers from the Vintage Spring collection & added under the image topper also on cheese cloth for a shabby feel. The top oval has Tim Holtz, LOTV & HOTP Postcard stamps in Shaded Lilac, Victorian Velvet & Pumice Stone, I then added shabby white Frantage & set with heat tool.

Hair - Antique Linen, Walnut Stain

Double bow tied in lovely white Stampin Up ribbon & set with white twine bow with Blue Moon silver heart charm. Below shows the banner I made with one of the bottom strips from the Maja papers - I LOVE these strips!!! So why not pop over & enter?

Now onto my project. Today I've made a table place card, perfect for childrens parties, Christenings etc. I got the idea from the new Magnolia Ink magazine & based mine around this basic concept of using the Magnolia Doo Hickey So Wrapped die to create an mini-easel card blank. I then added a 2nd heart die cut to the top part of the card folded over as I really wanted to have the top label section. I added lace, cheesecloth & twine with silver heart charm by Blue moon.

Papers are by Magnolia and have been inked around the edges in Antique Linen & Walnut Stain Distress Inks. Image is 'Princess Pea Tilda' from the new 'Once Upon a Time' collection and she has been coloured with Distress Inks. I made a clay lock & added lace for Tilda to sit against.

 Distress Inks:
Skin - Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain
Cheeks - Aged Mahogony
Hair - Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Dress, Shoes & Bow - Pumice Stone, Black Soot

Below is a bottle top I hammered & coated in Picket Fence Crackle Paint, I then added a punched circle also coated in Crackle Paint & finished with 2mm pearl string. I added a kraft banner with name stamped on & embellished with flowers & button - all sat on cheese cloth for an extra shabby effect!

Now onto my project. I made this ornate box for LOTV using their 'Inspirational Sentiment' stamps -  such a great set with lovely words & looks great too.

I made the box with Crafters Companion scoring board & Spellbinders Feur de Lies dies. Using the largest of the dies cut a lid and base from Core'dinations Whitewash Cardstock, I then used this to measure the size of the box from. I made the actual box from kraft cardstock & covered each side in Graphic 45 Once Upon a Spirngtime collection. The first layer has inked & sewn edges, then 2nd layer has inked & distressed edges that I curled back to reveal the papers underneath.

Metal bookplate is by Tim Holtz & has been covered in Shabby Pink Frantage embossing powder & set with a heat tool. Flowers are mostly kort & godt, LOTV sentiment stamped onto Spellbinders Oval die cut.

To finish I added a shabby seam binding bow tied onto the corner of the Feur de Lies die & a Tim Holtz bronze metal lock.

Deep Ocean 'Let's Sparkle'

Morning all, today it's time for another challenge over at Deep Ocean and this time we'd like to see projects that Sparkle!

I used my new Saturated Canary stamp 'Circus Trixie' and she's a real beauty! I love these Saturated Canary images & can't wait to start collecting them - it's been such a while since I used any other stamp line than Magnolia & whilst I LOVE Tilda, it's been nice to colour something different for a change.

Beautiful papers are from the new Vintage Spring collection by Maja Design. Edges have been inked, sewn and distressed. I used white Frantage embossing powder around the image oval, applied with Versa-mark ink & set with a heat tool. For best results add several layers & don't over heat so the powder still has some texture.

I added 2 metal pieces on either side of the Spellbinders Floral Oval die from  We are Memory Keepers metal hardware tin in Pewter & tied with pink organza ribbon to match the ribbon tied to the hula ring on the image. Image has been coloured with Distress Inks - she was a real pleasure to colour, especially the hair - which is something I can struglle with when colouring Tilda & I'm often not happy with it! But this hair has turned out really well...lovely long lucious locks!

Distress Inks:
Skin - Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo slight shading with Walnut Stain
Cheeks: Aged Mahogony mixed with Tattered Rose
Lips - Aged Mahogony
Hair - Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Dress, Ballet Shoes & frill- Victorian Velvet shading with Black Soot
Tights, glove, box & frills - Pumice Stone shaded with Black Soot
Other frill layers - Squeezed Lemonade shaded with Black Soot

I added lots of Sakura white pen highlights to the heart on Trixies face, the polka dots on the lemon frill layer and to the hair. To finish I added a silver crown charm.

Thw frame is made with my new Martha Stewart clay making kit & the sentiment inside is by LOTV. Butterflies are punched from an old book using Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punches, I then layered with 2 butterflies cut out from Maja Vintage Spring papers.

White flowers & berries are kort & godt, small pink are from Live & Love crafts and the larger pink ones are Kaisercraft. Below is 2 die cut So Wrapped Lovely Doo Hickey dies, finished with shabby seam binding (also from Live & Love Crafts), lace and black vintage buttons that I sprayed white.

Marvelous Magnolia 'Pearls & Lace' challenge

Hi all & today it's time for another Marvelous Magnolia challenge. This week we'd love to see you 'Pearls & Lace' creations. As most of you are allready aware, we are operation a 3 tier entry system and this has had loads of positive feedback and been working really well to give all levels of crafters from beginner to expert a chance at being chosen or Top Spots. However there are some entries that are being put in the beginner category who arn't classed as beginner. The categories work of how many Magnolia challenges you have won in the past. Only those with less than 3 Magnolia challenge wins are beginners. We know it's just an over sight & appreciate how long it takes entering your creations into challenges - but if you do want to be eligable for the prize & Top Spots, then please ensure you enter into the correct category, just scroll down a little further & you'll find intermediate & advanced categories. Many Thanks for your continued support of this system.x

Anyhow onto my card. I made my second card with my new Once Upon a Time stamps, using 'Tilda Longstocking'...how cute is this one?!!

Papers are the new Vintage Spring collection by Maja Design, card has been made using Go Kreate Frilly Frame #5 die. Edges have been inked in Antique Linen using a blending tool.

I added Blue Frantage embossing powder around the image and set with a heat tool. Image has been coloured with Distress Inks and highlighted with Crystal Glamour Dust & white pen.

I made the key hole with Tim Holtz Alterations Hardware Findings die from grungeboard, then applied Snowtex to add texture. The sentiment is by LOTV, postmark by HOTP mini Paris collection. I finished by adding 3 vintage buttons.

Rolled roses and other flowers & berries by Kort & Godt, white spray from Live & Love Crafts.

Notice the cute little birdhouse charm! The swirl die a Doo Hickey as in the Lovely Fence (above) and Vintage tags (below), the sentiment is Tim Holtz from the Urban Chic collection.

I'd like to enter into the following challenges:

Totally Tilda - Heat Embossing
Stamp & Create with Magnolia - Spring with Buttons

Live & Love Crafts Guest Designer 'Fika Card & Box Set'

Hi there, today I'm really excited to be Guest Designing for Live & Love Crafts. Since it's opening this fabulous store has soon become my favourite craft shop where I can now get the vast majority of my crafty supplies. The range of their beautiful shabby & vintage items continues to grow & develop, and I simply think this is the hottest craft store around right now.

I decided to make a card and box set using thi sstunning Fika paper by Maja Design. The sentiments are by LOTV.

The card (above) was made using Go Kreate Frilly Frame #5 die, and the box (below) with Spellbinders Nestabilities Fuer de Lies dies, the oval die cut is Spellbinders Floral Ovals. I also used my new Martha Stewart clay kit to make the frame & corners on the box, and rose topper on the box & card. I mixed the colours to make a pale lilac & pale green, then added the lilac to the details and filled with green background.

I threaded lilac organza ribbon around the holes in the corner of the Feur de Lies die, then tied into a bow. I added white rose trim and lilac lace around the back and sides of the box and madegrungeboard hinges covered in Snowtex for the front.

To the top of the box I applied Snowtex around the clay frame and behind the rose topper on the front. Flowers & berries are mostly kort & godt, lovely lilac spray from Live & Love Crafts.

All of the supplies and items used in this project are available from Live & Love Crafts, just click on the link & check out there all new website - it runs much better than the old site & is now a pleasure to use as well as being extreemly gorgeous!
