Hi all & today it's time for another Monthly challenge at The Rubber Buggy. The theme is an easy one 'Anything Goes' as we're trying to attract larger numbers to the challnege. As there's not loads of entrants be sure to take advantage & get your entries in before theres loads of new followers - you will have a great chance of winning a fabulous $15 gift certificate from The Rubber Buggy! Don't forget they stock a wide range of Magnolia stamps as well as Saturated Canary, Distress Inks, COPICS, great paper collections & much, much more.
Now onto my project. I made this ornate box for LOTV using their 'Inspirational Sentiment' stamps - such a great set with lovely words & looks great too.
I made the box with Crafters Companion scoring board & Spellbinders Feur de Lies dies. Using the largest of the dies cut a lid and base from Core'dinations Whitewash Cardstock, I then used this to measure the size of the box from. I made the actual box from kraft cardstock & covered each side in Graphic 45 Once Upon a Spirngtime collection. The first layer has inked & sewn edges, then 2nd layer has inked & distressed edges that I curled back to reveal the papers underneath.
Metal bookplate is by Tim Holtz & has been covered in Shabby Pink Frantage embossing powder & set with a heat tool. Flowers are mostly kort & godt, LOTV sentiment stamped onto Spellbinders Oval die cut.
To finish I added a shabby seam binding bow tied onto the corner of the Feur de Lies die & a Tim Holtz bronze metal lock.
