Whoopsi Daisy 'Things with Wings' challenge

Hi there crafters - I've got a bit of a special one today that I made for the Whoopsi Daisy 'Things with wings' challenge - check out the rest of the DT's work with this link - theres some real stunners! I can't tell you just how much I enjoyed working with this sheet which is no. 28. Especially the little birdy bits - toooooo cute! - Thanks Linnie for such fabulous images - use the link in my side bar below to check out the blog where you can buy sheets for just £1.99 - BARGAIN!!! The art work in my opinion is what you'd expect to find in a rubber stamp & is a much higher standard than some digis around. I have to admit - I'm a bit of a real stamp girl myself - but these digis are just sooooo good - I'm being converted! haha. Actually I've been working with a few digis recently for different DT's & to be really honest - its been a bit of a nightmare at times. My printer used to be ok for watercolouring (its an Epson one - with the water proof ink) but my Dad bought some copied ink & you only have to show it the water brush & it runs like crazy! My HP laser printer just won't take the watercolour paper & my other scanner/printer wont install properly to my laptop as I think the cd's broke. So between my 3 printers I was majorly struggling to get a print out I could watercolour with my beloved Distress Inks! - Sooooo I ordered some Copics & they came this week. I AM TOTALLY SOLD!!!! - love them! & am now really looking forwadrs to more digis. Other than a few scribbles this is my first attempt at using them - so I know I'll have a lot to learn & I didn't order the right skin colours either - but in all in all I think its not bad for a 1st attempt!

I have to confess - this design is mostly down to the gorgeous WD images & the fantastic papers I used. I ordered from Bunny Zoe store & am just so excited about every single thing that came! (maybe I need to get a life) haha. The paper pad is 'Anna-Lee' by Prima & is just to die for. The Magnolia die cut swirl is also a newwy, as is the Spellbinders fancy tags (set 3 I think?!! or poss 2 - will find out!) & the charms - simply adorable. There was 10% of for the wedding bank hol weekend - so it was a total bargain too! - With all these new products it no wander I like the results so much - don't you find that when you order new supplies, your crafting steps up a notch? - LOVE it when that happens!!!!

...The other major influence was the bow that my daughter brought home for me on a box of chocs (which were very yummy by the way & lasted about 2 seconds!) As soon as I saw it - I thought it'd be perfect for these papers for this challenge. The other new thing I've tried is my Flower Soft. I won it in the Card-Maker of the Year prize from SC&P mag & have been dying to give it a try - but just not found the right images so far. These little birdy bits are just perfect for it - I love the effect of it - so soft & pretty & adds to that whimsy/ vintage feel...

Birdies - B000 (Pale Porceline Blue), B02 (Robins Egg Blue)

...The other new things I tried was the fence - I made it with vertical strips of card-stock cut up & shaped at the top connected with 2 horiontal longer strips & used tiny glue dots to connect them. If you haven't got one of those cool fence dies - this is a really easy way of getting the same effect! I think I'll defo be using that one again! - Maybe I'll do a tutorial too...

Photobucket

...The quotes are from the Prima paper stack - I have cut out & adehered the individual words/ sentances. Little mini-alphas by Cosmo Cricket are on raffle stlye tabs also cut from the paper pad...
